2K Marin's X-COM shooter abducted into 2013
Firaxis strategy X-COM title will see 2012 release instead
It appears that the ambitious FPS reboot of the atmospheric Microprose strategy series X-COM has been delayed even further.
2K had already pushed the game, which was supposed to be due this March, into the next financial year which runs April 2012 till March 2013 but now it seems that an arrival any earlier than the fourth quarter of that period is unlikely. This essentially puts the release date some time in 2013.
X-COM fans should not be disheartened as 2K have also announced that Sid Meier's Firaxis studio are working on a strategy reboot of the series, X-COM: Enemy Unknown which is due out this year.
The recent announcement indicated that the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of X-COM: Enemy Unknown will be out some time in the autumn.
