Hirai not replacing Stringer as Sony president
Former PlayStation boss not moving up to the big job just yet...
Sony has refuted claims made in a Japanese newspaper that Kaz Hirai has been named as president of the company.
The newspaper had claimed that Kaz Hirai would succeed Howard Stringer as the president of Sony to lighten Stringer's workload.
Sony spokesperson Shino Kambe denied that they have finalised an appointment for the role of president with the board still thinking things over.
Howard Stringer will remain as president until a replacement is found. After a new president is named Stringer refocus his energies on his other roles as CEO and chairman.
