Diablo III caught in a South Korean ratings dungeon
Real currency use proves a conundrum for Korean ratings body
Doubt has arisen again over when Diablo III will be released after it was refused a rating in South Korea.
The South Korean Game Rating Board has reportedly refused Diablo III a rating due to the use of real currency in the game's online auction house.
A spokesman for the Korean ratings body said:"Committee members are conflicted about what to do with Diablo 3 because of Blizzard's information on the game's 'auction house' feature."
Blizzard has resubmitted a version of the game without the real currency feature and is currently still waiting for the game to be passed.
A Blizzard spokesperson said: "In principle, we are always committed to a global release." This suggests that we'll have to wait for Diablo III to get rated in Korea before we see it released.
