Google has developed new technology to allow console-quality games to be played in their own Chrome web browser.

The new Native Client technology already has acclaimed and title Bastion working fully on it and has is working on porting Mini Ninjas over to Google's new tech.

The Chrome playable version of Bastion is available for free and will work on any computer with a copy of Chrome and a compatible graphics processor.

Square Enix aren't the only publisher signed up and FEAR and publisher Brothers have also thrown their lot in with the new Native Client technology.

Yoichi Wada, president of Square Enix, said: "Let us begin this new era together. Google's Native Client will be welcomed worldwide as a truly innovative technology and game industry as well."
