Sega make Superstars on the EyeToy
Playable at E3, apparently
Sega has announced that their Sonic Team studio is currently developing their first Eyetoy game – featuring characters from the company's most famous franchises. Sonic is making an appearance, along with the Virtua Fighter and Samba de Amigo brands.
The game will be playable at E3 in May, we're told, and is expected to hit the shelves in late 2004 – no doubt in time to put in your Christmas stocking.
"EyeToy is a whole new way of interfacing with a game and in this respect, a very interesting proposition for a game developer," comented Yuji Naka, the president at Sonic Team. "I think there are many creative ways we'll be able to use the camera with great potential for fun. It's great to have the opportunity to reach a wider audience through a new system like this and I'm really excited to be developing a game like SEGA SuperStars for EyeToy."
