2K Marin's XCOM FPS reboot delayed
It now slips to the next financial year
The FPS reboot of the classic atmospheric turn-based strategy series XCOM is to face delays.
It was due to come out this March, sharing a release window with Mass Effect 3, but 2K has decided to push the game into the next financial year meaning that it will now not see release until April of 2012.
There are two theories behind the delay. One is that 2K has decided that they don't want to go up against Mass Effect 3 with such a risky title which is a fairly plausible reason to delay.
The second centres around the 15 redundancies at 2K Marin's Australian studio that were announced last month which could have slowed down the game's development.
