Sony is preparing for a big launch with their new handheld device the PlayStation Vita.

John Koller of Computer Entertainment of America revealed that there is already a significant demand for the already based on research done in and the US.

Koller quoted studies that have suggested that 60 percent of owners and 63 percent of owners intend to pick up the PS Vita within the next year and a half.

The PS Vita will hit Japanese stores on December the 17th where many outlets have been selling out their pre-order quotas. The PS Vita is due out on February the 22nd in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Australasia.
