Demon's Souls celebrates 2 year anniversary by dialling back the difficulty...
... then cranking it up to 11
Demon's Souls has managed to reach its two-year anniversary and as a reward for their perseverance gamers will see the game's difficulty ease for a short while.
For from today (October the 7th) until October the 17th the World Tendency of Boletaria will shift to Pure White making the game just a tad easier and opening up areas and secrets that were previously inaccessible to all but the most accomplished of Demon's Souls players.
After the 17th of October the World Tendency will switch quite drastically to Pure Black until Halloween unlocking further secrets but also making the game much tougher.
CEO and president of Atlus (publisher of Demon's Souls in then US) Shinichi Suzuki said: "When people get together to talk about games that have forever changed the face of the industry, Demon's Souls remains one of the most salient titles to discuss. From the beginning, we were honored to be involved with so daring a project. We endeavored to pour every bit as much of ourselves into how we promoted, packaged, and supported the game as developer From Software obviously had. Upon its North American release, there was already a strong, growing community of fans. They received the game, its relevance, and its accomplishments with such great passion and earnestness; we made it our highest priority to not let them down. We are incredibly proud to continue to support the game's online functionality and host World Tendency events as long as we can. We're not just the game's publisher: we're fans, too."
