NewsJohn Smedley, president of SOE revealed that they will be PlanetSide 2 will offer permanent in-game content to buy as part of the free-to-play model they are adopting.

As well as the free-to-play confirmation, Smedley also poured cold water on some of the more rumours of more experimental ideas on inter-player commerce in the game.
He said: "I said I liked [the auction house idea] and thought it would help with farmers and that we were doing it years ago with Station Exchange, [but] it has nothing to do with PlanetSide 2 whatsoever."
