Brand new Boktai sighted
Japan gets sequel as Europe gets original!

Reports out of Japan today inform us that Konami are planning a brand new Boktai sequel for an imminent release in July, and that the new title will be called Zoku Bokura no Taiyou: Taiyou Shounen Django - whatever that means. Django, from the original, will be the lead character in this sequel, which will once again make use of the GBA solar sensor. As well as the solar 'gun', spears, swords and hammers will also be included in this new outing.
In addition to including the original solar power-ups as featured in the series' debut, the energy from the solar sensor will also be capable of creating new weapons by forging together existing ones. No release beyond Japan has been confirmed at the moment, though a US debut is on the cards at the end of the year apparently. Hopefully we'll glean word of a European launch date soon, in the meantime the Hideo Kojima designed original Boktai will be out here come May 14th, so let's hope the good weather remains.
