EA makes between 10 and 15 million USD out of Online Passes
Online Pass scheme sees some success
It seems that EA's Online Pass has succeeded in what is was designed to do. That is, make money from second hand sales of their games.
Eric Brown EA's chief financial officer has revealed that they have made between 10 and 15 million USD since they initiated the programme with Tiger Woods 11 last year.
Since then the Online Pass scheme has featured on all the EA Sports titles along with Medal of Honor, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and Shift 2: Unleashed.
It has also featured in the form of added content as the Cerberus Network code with Mass Effect and Dragon Age 2's Black Emporium.
Thanks Gamasutra.
