EA: We will not charge for our Battlelog service for Battlefield 3
EA has confirmed that they will not be offering a subscription service with their social networking companion to Battlefield 3, Battlelog.
Unlike Activision, who have chosen to provide a premium option for Call of Duty Elite users at the cost of 35 GBP for 12 months, EA has promised that Battlelog will be free.
They stated: "We are providing Battlelog to Battlefield 3 players to deliver the best social, multiplayer FPS experience in the market. We have no plans to charge for this service with Battlefield 3. The Battlefield series has always been about playing with friends, and Battlelog takes that experience to the next level by serving as a unique social network."
DICE in particular has always been committed to free online content providing plenty of additional content for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at no extra charge, even offering some as reward for the community reaching certain milestones such as completing a million team actions.
Thanks IndustryGamers.
