Halo 4 creative director leaves 343 Industries
Payton leaves feeling "drained"
One of the men in charge of creating the next entry in the saga of the Master Chief, Ryan Payton has left 343 Industries.
Payton, who was a creative director on Halo 4 has decided to part ways with the Microsoft studio after losing his passion for the project. Ha said that while he didn't have any regrets about his time at 343 he felt that the project was going in a different direction to the one he had envisaged and it was time for him to explore something new.
He mused: "I had a great run at Microsoft. I don't regret one day of it. But after a few years, there came a point where I wasn't creatively excited about the project anymore. The Halo I wanted to build was fundamentally different and I don't think I had built enough credibility to see such a crazy endeavour through."
"For somebody who loves this industry as much as I do and know how lucky I've been, I never thought I'd get to a point where I was so drained. That was when I knew I had to do something else. I think time is the most valuable thing we have and I've decided that I'm not going to waste one more day working on something that doesn't speak to my values," Payton concluded.
Payton is now working on two titles at his new studio Camoflaj.
