Sledgehammer Games has revealed that they had to put their own title on hold in order to help finish off 3.

Co-founder of Sledgehammer, Michael Condrey stated that their own Call of Duty title, was only in the prototype stage when they were called in to aid the of Modern Warfare 3.

He said excitedly: "We were working on it for about six months. We had a prototype together that was pretty compelling, and it looked really good. [But] the opportunity to work on the biggest thing in the with Infinity Ward was just an opportunity we couldn't [miss]."

Modern Warfare 3 is set for a worldwide release on PC, and on November the 8th with and releases also planned for this year.
