Konami has announced that they will be releasing HD collections of their classic and series.

The collections will launch ahead of the release of the latest entries in both series Silent Hill Downpour and Metal Gear Solid Rising.

Christopher Heck, European brand manager for explained: "These collections allow people to revisit their favourite games, while also raising awareness for newer titles that will continue to build those franchises."

He added: "There's huge demand for such collections. We have a wave of people who know of things like MGS and Silent Hill through more recent titles, but perhaps have no way to play the originals due to unavailability or they just dont have the formats they were released on."

Silent Hill Downpour is out this October on and PS3. Metal Gear Solid: Rising is due out some time in 2012.
