Activision's Eric Hirschberg has said that the possible action/adventure spin-off title proposed by Games is still very much a possibility.

While Sledgehammer are very much focussed on helping finish off 3 at the moment Hirschberg stated that Sledgehammer's future slate was yet to be confirmed and their idea for an Call of Duty title was one that he was still keen on.

He told IndustryGamers: "Right now Sledgehammer's 100percent focused on Modern Warfare 3. We havent announced the future slate or future plans for the studio. They were originally working on an extension of the Call of Duty franchise into an action/adventure genre and that's a game I still want to play. That's a supreme, incredible group doing that. All I can say is right now they're 100 percent focused on Modern Warfare 3."

Sledgehammer joined the diminished team to help finish to the usual standard in time for this year's release date. It will be launched on November the 8th of this year on PC, and accompanied by the new Call of Duty: Elite social networking service for COD players.
