Action/adventure Call of Duty title is still in the cross-hairs
Sledgehammer's idea on hold till MW3 is finished
Activision's Eric Hirschberg has said that the possible action/adventure Call of Duty spin-off title proposed by Sledgehammer Games is still very much a possibility.
While Sledgehammer are very much focussed on helping finish off Modern Warfare 3 at the moment Hirschberg stated that Sledgehammer's future slate was yet to be confirmed and their idea for an action Call of Duty title was one that he was still keen on.
He told IndustryGamers: "Right now Sledgehammer's 100percent focused on Modern Warfare 3. We havent announced the future slate or future plans for the studio. They were originally working on an extension of the Call of Duty franchise into an action/adventure genre and that's a game I still want to play. That's a supreme, incredible group doing that. All I can say is right now they're 100 percent focused on Modern Warfare 3."
Sledgehammer joined the diminished Infinity Ward team to help finish Modern Warfare 3 to the usual standard in time for this year's release date. It will be launched on November the 8th of this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 accompanied by the new Call of Duty: Elite social networking service for COD players.
