The boss of Take Two, Strauss Zelnick has stated that does have a future despite the game's poor review scores.

Duke Nukem Forever was finally released on the 10th of June in the and the 14th of June in the and shot to the top of the charts but many reviewers were less than impressed in the game that the world had been waiting 15 years to see.

Zelnick explained to Forbes: "You will see future Duke IP coming from this company. The economic opportunities that interact with entertainment are so huge...If we can take some of our intellectual property and bring it to another medium in an extraordinarily high-quality way, that delights consumers and represents an interesting commercial opportunity for us, we will. Stay tuned."
