Crysis 2 pulled from Steam
EA denies responsibility
Crytek's impressive FPS sequel Crysis 2 appears to have been pulled from sale on Steam today.
The game's disappearance from Valve dominant distribution platform seems to be the result of a conflict of agreements between Crytek and Steam and Crytek and another unnamed digital distribution platform.
It has been suggest that it was to do with the launch of EA's own digital store Origin but EA has denied that they pulled the game instead offering an alternative explanation.
The publisher told VG247 in a statement: "Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam. Crysis 2 continues to be available on several other download services including GameStop, Amazon, Origin.com and more."
