Analyst predicts 20 million sales for Modern Warfare 3
MW3 to best Black Ops this Christmas
With the return of the Modern Warfare sub-series of Call of Duty this year one analyst believes that it might be another big year for Activision's genre-defining miltary shooter series.
Stern Agee's Arvind Bhatia believes that Modern Warfare 3 could very well exceed the sales of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops.
The analyst noted: "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (releasing 11/8/11) looks very impressive and we expect the title to sell at least in line with but probably grow versus last years title, which sold an estimated 20M units."
Bhatia added on EA's competition for MW3, Battlefield 3: "Battlefield 3 (releasing 10/25/11) is getting strong reviews and we think has the potential to sell 8M to 10M units this year."
The race for the the biggest shooter of 2011 will go down to the wire especially given the strong showing from both games so far this year.
