Sony picks up the rights to a Devil May Cry movie
Sony-owned Screen Gems to make the film based on Capcom's elegant brawler
Capcom has sold the rights to making a film based on the Devil May Cry series to a subsidiary of Sony.
Screen Gems who are owned by Sony themselves has bought the rights to make a Devil May Cry movie and has a script in development with Kane and Lynch movie writer Kyle Ward.
The story of the film is believed to follow Dante as he slaughters his way through hordes of demons with his usual style as he tries to avenge the death of his mother.
There are no indications whether the film will follow along the lines of the first four Devil May Cry titles or whether it will be more akin to the upcoming Ninja Theory reboot of the series.
Thanks Variety.
