Open beta of Battlefield 3 due in September, launch date confirmed
DICE: Battlefield 3 is the game we always wanted to make
DICE GM, Karl-Magnus Troedsson came on stage to introduce Battlefield 3 and proclaimed just how proud his is of the game.
Saying that Battlefield 3 is a game that was ten years in the making he added: Battlefield 3 is the game we have always wanted to make.
He introduced a completely new gameplay trailer, moving from the Middle Eastern setting of the Fault Line video to Paris and a gameplay demo of tank combat in the open desert outside Tehran as well as detailing a new free social networking tool that will allow players to connect and share details even outside the game.
He also revealed that the social networking service will be available before the game goes live when they launch an open beta of Battlefield 3 in September. The game will be released on October the 25th on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. That's a two-week head-start on Modern Warfare 3.
