Not content with unveiling gobbets on their new successor, a brand new piece of (the DS), and a whole shed load of new games, are also plotting a new Cube peripheral for E3 - so reports Japanese paper Kyoto Shimbun. Apparently, the new addition will bring 'new functionality' to the console, and the newspaper reports that Nintendo's official PR agency has confirmed the showing.

Nintendo are reportedly drawing comparisons between their new gizmo and Sony's innovative EyeToy, and something similarly unusual on the control front would seem to be the order of the day as the gaming giant look to re-establish their reputation for originality.

On top of all this, Nintendo may even unveil their plans further at E3, making the show one of their most ambitious and interesting ever.
