Interplay has admitted that they are experiencing some pretty severe financial diffculties that has put several of their projects in doubt.

The publisher which has been around for about 28 years has a handful of projects in but debts of almost 3 million USD and a severe lack of income may cause the company to finally close its doors not to mention the ongoing litigation with over the franchise.

The main titles in doubt and Masthead's Fallout Online due out next year, versions of Stonekeep and Descent, both provisionally marked for later this year, a DSiWare version of ClayFighter scheduled for some time in the next three months and Earthworm Jim 4 which is in an unknown state of development.

A statement from the company said: "We currently have some obligations that we are unable to meet without generating additional income or raising additional capital. If we cannot generate additional income or raise additional capital in the near future, we may become insolvent or be made bankrupt or may become illiquid or worthless."
