Age of Conan going free-to-play
Relaunch coming later this summer
Funcom has announced that theu will be taking Age of Conan over to a new free-to-play model this summer.
As well as the free-to-play portion of the game Funcom will also be offering additional content to those who wish an extra bit of content as well as an new store that will allow players both free and premium to buy additional weapons and gear through microtransactions.
Age Of Conan's creative director Craig Morrison said: "Everyone on the team is excited about opening up our world to an even larger audience. The online world of Hyboria is constantly expanding as we continue to introduce new gameplay features and new content, and we truly believe that Age of Conan: Unrated will of thing truly new and unique to both new players and to those have already experienced the brutal online world of Conan the Barbarian."
Age of Conan has already sold 1.4 million copies worldwide since its launch in 2008 and Funcom will be hoping to reinvigorate their mature MMO and bring it to a whole new audience.
