One of the big talking points from the build-up to last year's E3 was what were going to announce at their press conference.

There were great swirling rumours about what they were going to announce. Was it a new iteration of the Source engine? Was it the next Half-Life?

It ended up with Valve cancelling their own press conference and appearing in Sony's instead and sending out a press release saying: "It's about for God's sake!" It did turn out to be really big with appearing on stage at the show to announce that 2 would not only be coming to the but it would also feature full functionality integrated with PSN.

This year there will be no such drama as Valve has circulated a short email stating that they will not be showing anything off this year. Sad news for those who have been enjoying Portal 2 but not all is lost. There will be more available for Portal 2 this summer and true to Valve's form it will be free on all platforms.
