Konami reveals PES 2012
Vast AI improvements coming in this year
Konami has lifted the lid on this year's entry in their long-term FIFA sparring-partner soccer series Pro-Evolution Soccer.
FIFA has been firmly in the driving seat in recent years and Konami hopes that, with the improvements they are bringing to the field in PES 2012 that they will be able to level the scores again.
Konami has made great strides forward in player AI with players off the ball now making proper dummy runs and the whole team reacting in a much more dynamic and realistic fashion to the player with the ball.
Defence has also been improved with refinements made to both zonal and positional marking schemes. It is also now much easier to switch between players with a new system implemented using the right analogue stick.
Producer Shingo Takatsuka said: "For me, the ultimate aim in the ongoing PES series is to match what people see when they go to a match or watch a big game on TV with what they experience on their console. As such, in consultation with football fans across the globe, we have been working non-stop to isolate and determine how to make our game marry in with how real football is played. This is key to PES 2012, and key to providing the ultimate football experience within a console title."
PES 2012 is due out on multiple formats this autumn.
Thanks MCV.
