It's official: Hitman Absolution due next year
Agent 47 teaser arrives, more at E3
IO Interactive has finally bit the bullet and announced the next Hitman title in the face of mounting rumours.
Agent 47 will return in Hitman Absolution in 2012 and will see him on the run after being betrayed by those he trusted. Hunted by the authorities the iconic assassin must battle his way to the heart of a dark conspiracy in order to put things right.
IO Interactive's Tore Bylstad said: "For the first time we are taking Agent 47 on a personal journey which allows us to explore other parts of the Hitman fantasy. This is both a familiar and yet significantly different experience to any of the other Hitman games, something our silent assassins will relish as well as those who are new to the Hitman world."
Hitman Absolution is in development on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 and will be published for the first time by Square Enix. A teaser trailer is available over on Hitman's official Youtube channel. More is set to be revealed at E3 next month.
