Japanese moguls SquareEnix have indicated that they are currently developing two new reworkings of the original NES Final Fantasy's I and II for release on Nintendo's GBA handheld platform. The two ports will arrive on one cartridge, according to 'Jump' magazine. As well the ability to save progress at any point, the new versions will also include updated visuals, and the ability to cast spells by consuming magic points.

Both versions of the game will included various bonuses missing from the NES originals, and will be released in this July. Hopefully we'll hear word on Euro-American launches soon.
