Sony admits being aware of security flaws with PSN
Admits that their security measures were inadeqate
Sony's head of information, Shinji Hasejima, has admitted that Sony was fully aware of the flaws in PSN's data security.
At a press conference in Tokyo the executive said that Sony were aware of the flaws but were not convinced of them.
Hasejima stated: "The vulnerability [of the network] was a known vulnerability, one known of in the world. But Sony was not aware of it... was not convinced of it. We are now trying to improve aspects of it."
Senior VP at Sony Shiro Kambe added: "We thought we had taken enough management and control measures [to ensure the network was secure], but looking back, there might have been room for further enhancement. We have to admit we were not fully sufficient."
