Nintendo has bowed to the weight of all the rumours flying around and confirmed that they will be unveiling a new home console at this year's E3 in June.

Not only will they be giving the world a first glimpse of the Wii's successor but the they are bringing will be playable.

The new machine has been rumoured to feature system specs similar to that of the and 360. It is supposedly powered by a custom triple-core IBM PowerPC processor and AMD graphics based on the R670 chipset used in and Radeon graphics cards.

The machine is also reported to be backwards compatible with and games and even Wii peripherals. Its own controller is said to contain a touch screen allowing for an interesting array of new control options.

All will be revealed when in LA this coming June when E3 rolls around. We'll let you know more as soon as we have it.
