Steam details confirmed for Portal 2 on the PS3
PS3 gamers to get full Steam/ PSN integration from the beginning
Valve has confirmed the full details of the Steam support that PlayStation 3 gamers will get when the game launches on April the 19th.
For the first time, PS3 players will be able to engage in cross-platform multiplayer with friends on PC and Mac via the Steam network. They will also have the ability to save their games to the Steam Cloud allowing them to continue playing from where they left off no matter where they are.
Steam Achievements and PSN Trophies are synced together as well as Steam and PSN friends lists and can be accessed along with text chats, friend requests, player profiles and game invites from the Steam overlay with ease.
Linking your Steam and PSN accounts together is a simple matter which can be done in game and you can even set up a Steam account with no hassle in game as well. In the spirit of Steam Play, PS3 gamers will also have access of the PC and Mac versions of Portal 2 via the activation codes included in the pack with their PS3 disc.
