Question mark over DirectX 9 support for Battlefield 3
DirectX 10 is fine though
While there is no doubt about Battlefield 3's visual prowess there remains a question mark over whether it will support DirectX 9.
This week we got a chance to have a look at Battlefield 3 in person running maxed out on a high-spec gaming PC connected to massive HD TV and we, like most at the event were left speechless at the volume of detail that DICE have squeezed into the game.
We asked the representative from DICE at the end of the screening if the game would support DirectX 9 and he wasn't too sure.
His reply was: "What you see here is running in DirectX 11. Battlefield 3 will definitely support DirectX 10 but we don't know about DirectX 9 yet."
Well, if there ever was a game made that was worth upgrading your PC for then Battlefield 3 is certainly a hot contender. Check out our extensive preview later on in the week.
