We're not happy that Red Dead isn't in this year's awards says BAFTA
BAFTA COO talks about the Rockstar snub
The COO of BAFTA Kevin Price has been talking about the conspicuous absence of Red Dead Redemption from this year's award nominees.
Price explained that they were unhappy with the game's absence but it was up to the publisher to put their title forward for nomination.
he told GamesIndustry.biz: "We don't have the right to automatically enter a videogame. We encourage the publishers and developers to enter. We're not happy that Rockstar game isn't in the longlist this year, but the simple answer is it wasn't entered."
He added: "I think one of the positive aspects of this, if there is a positive, is people are talking about it. When we make a decision on Best Game or the winner of a category, we're not saying there's only one good piece of work. It's all about getting the public thinking about what makes a good videogame."
