Capcom has confirmed that will be getting ready to take some big risks with new IPs being developed in Japan.

After taking a serious hit on Western developed IPs like Dark Void and GRIN's Bionic Commando reboot has put a moratorium on developing new IPs outside of but they are not totally averse to taking risks.

Capcom US's Christian Svensson told GamesIndustry.biz in an interview at last week's GDC: "Well, to clarify a bit, when I say no more new IP, I mean no new IP in the West. I think you will see us actually taking some major new IP risks I think we're a ways away from that."

Svensson added on their activities: "The remit at the moment is still to leverage existing classic Capcom brands - I think you see that in bigger ways than perhaps you've seen from us before. New IP for the near term? No go."
