Battlefield 3 gets free DLC with pre-orders
Battlefield 2 maps resurrected as a bonus for pre-orders
EA and DICE have detailed a small bonus for that will be available for players that pre-order Battlefield 3 nice and early.
The pack of DLC that will be available is a map pack called Back to Karkand. The pack will feature four of the most popular maps from Battlefield 2 remastered on the new Frostbite 2 game engine.
Battlefield 3 will feature world-spanning gameplay in both single and multiplayer modes as levels will be set in as varied locations as Paris, Tehran and New York with players taking up arms as the US Marines in one of the most chaotic and authentic Battlefields yet.
Battlefield 3 is in development for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will arrive some time this autumn with DICE promising PC gamers that they will not be getting a "consolized" experience.
Executive producer, Patrick Bach at DICE said: "We wanted to create the most immersive and emotionally powerful Battlefield game ever and we needed new technology to deliver on our vision. Battlefield 3 preserves the franchises signature sandbox style and even brings back classic fan favourites like jets, going prone and 64-player multiplayer on PC."
