True Crime: Hong Kong was almost finished when it was canned
Reboot had a unique fluidity to it
United Front Games has revealed that their brand new Far Eastern True Crime reboot was very near completion when Activision dropped the axe.
The game was nearing its Alpha stage just before Christmas and executive producer Stephen Van Der Mescht was satisfied that the game stood apart from other sandbox games.
Van Der Mescht told CVG: "Obviously there are tons of amazing open-world games out there and I'm respectful of all of them, but I think that the piece that we're going to bring which people aren't going to have experienced before is that martial arts hand-to-hand feel - the fluidity of our gameplay systems."
He concluded: "We hope to make people say, 'holy s**t, I haven't experienced this before'."
