The new title is believed to be being handled by Sabre Interactive, the studio behind Timeshift and Namco's forthcoming Inversion. It is also understood that the remake is a genuine remake using brand new art assets rather than simply the old game at a higher resolution (1080p apparently). It is not believed to be using the Reach engine though.

Development is being overseen by the watchful eyes of 343 Industries, the studio now charged with the Halo series, who are also working on the next big entry in the series.

The remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is expected to make its appearance on November the 15th of this year.
