No more side stories for Halo
Halo ODST and Halo Wars not 343's kind of schtick
343 Industries' development director Frank O'Connor has announced that they will not be producing any Halo side-story titles any time soon.
O'Connor said that that while they want to answer the questions that fans have about the series they are just as concerned with creating more questions for fans to ask and building on the Halo mythology.
He explained in an interview in OXM: "I can tell you we're not working on any side stories as games at the moment. There'll certainly be more Halo fiction entering the universe, but we've no new games to announce right now. I think that there are a lot of questions that fans of the series want answered, and we'll certainly be in the business of answering those questions."
He continued: "But we would be lazy and very lacking in imagination if we didn't inject lots of brand new questions into the universe, and enigma, mystery, and awe are at the heart of what drives the fiction. I think building that sense of epic scale, while also focusing on creating great, memorable characters, and exciting new stories, are what will propel both 343 Industries and the universe it inhabits."
There is not big new Halo release scheduled for this year but 343 are rumoured to be working on an HD remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its original release.
