Visceral Games have discussed the possibility of a live movie.

The game's art director Ian Milham says that would "love to do it" under the right circumstances.

"We would love to have a live action film and we've had a lot of discussion," said Milham.

The Dead Space franchise has already spawned a number of animated spin-offs, most notably 2008's Dead Space: Downfall and this year's Dead Space: Aftermath. There was also an animated comic series. But Visceral are keen not to just jump in bed with the first Hollywood studio that comes along.

"One of the reasons Dead Space still exists and is popular is because we've made sure to do everything right," he said. "So we're doing the same with the film, not just a cheap cash-in but to do something really worthwhile, so we'll see."
