Sonic creator reveals his latest project, Rodea
The man behind Sonic the Hedgehog, Yuji Naka, has unveiled his latest project for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii.
Tenki no Kishi: Rodea is a new flight-based title in development at Naka's Prope studio. Its gameplay that echoes Naka's Saturn classic Nights into Dreams.
The game's story is being handled by Tales of the Abyss and Arc Rise Fantasia writer Takumi Miyajima. The game is set in a world where two kingdoms compete for natural resources and follows the story of an android woken up from a 1000 year sleep and has to decide which faction to side with.
Miyajima said: "The developers wanted a story that both kids and adults can identify with and so I wanted to emphasize the bonds and other feelings that people have for those they encounter in their lives. Seeing how Rodea, this mechanical creation with a very pure emotional outlook on the world, interacts with the other people in his world is something I think players will really enjoy."
