Outrun goes 3D on the PS2
Re-make revealed

As was originally rumoured some time ago, today we've heard reports offering further evidence that Sega are indeed working on a brand new Outrun title - a remake of the original, purportedly - which will be a true-3D racing extravaganza for the PS2. The enhanced 3D visuals won't be the only improvement however as a rival race car will also be included, though the game will still apparently feature the branching checkpoint system.
The title will be created by Sega Ages, and is part of a whole series of arcade re-makes planned by the publisher for the PS2, including old favourites ranging from Afterburner to Golden Axe. We'll bring you more on the return of this seminal gaming landmark as we get it, as well as word on a new edition to the series - also a source of conjecture. Thanks to Gamepro.com.
