Bizarre Creations too expensive to save
Other studios just plundering the staff instead
Activision has implied in their latest comments that their troubled Liverpool developer Bizarre Creations would cost too much to save.
Activision Worldwide Studios COO, Coddy Johnson explained to Develop Online that they had spoken to some prospective buyers but it seemed that other developers were more interested in plundering the staff than saving the studio itself.
Johnson began: "We were talking to a lot of companies about buying Bizarre as many as possible but when it got down to it, no parties wanted to take over the studio."
He added: "I can imagine from their [the bidders'] perspective, and we heard this from a lot of them, they were asking; 'should we buy the studio, or should we wait it out and pick off talent after it closes?' Pretty much all of them, explicitly or implicitly, are thinking of the latter option."
