Activision recommends closing Bizarre Creations
More bad news for the UK games industry
Activision has decided that, after their 90 day consultation period over the future of Blur and Blood Stone developer Bizarre Creations that their best option will be to close the studio.
Although there were a few leads, there has been no concrete interest from anyone looking to pick up the former Project Gotham studio and as a result they are looking at closing the Liverpool-based dev down.
The staff at Bizarre Creations have indicated that they will accept the final decision as to their future but the closure will leave around 200 members of staff out of work.
Activision Worldwide Studios COO Coddy Johnson said: "I want to be clear, our first choice was to try and keep this group together and find a buyer for the studio. But unfortunately, so far weve not been able to find any interested parties. So weve made as a last resort, a recommendation to the team for closure."
