Valve hails Intel's new integrated PC CPU/GPU as a game changer
PC to get a more console-like experience
Valve's Gabe Newell is very impressed with Intel's new range of integrated CPU/GPU processors after working with it on Portal 2.
Intel's new Sandy Bridge architecture is a CPU that carries an integrated 32 nanometre GPU and has the potential to open up much the potential for much better graphics processing in laptop PCs.
Newell said: "Sandy Bridge is awesome. Weve been using it for a couple of months. Sandy Bridge really does give us the great features and performance that we need to develop great customer experiences for gamers. Sandy Bridge cannot only run todays games, but even the next generation of games."
He also added that Sandy Bridge opens up the possibility for a universal baseline for PC hardware allowing "for a console-like experience on the PC."
Thanks Develop Online.
