Activision lawsuit hampering efforts to get Respawn up and running
EA addition could be a delaying tactic
The lengthening court battle between Respawn bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West and Activision is beginning to have adverse effects on the pair and their fledgling studio.
According to information obtained by Kotaku, the former Infinity Ward chiefs are protesting the addition of EA to the suit which will draw out the case even longer with the case now being pushed beyond the original court date of this May.
West and Zampella stated that they are paying for the court case out of their own finances and it has already cost them more than their annual salaries combined. They added: "Any delay of the trial in this lawsuit would increase the financial and non-financial burdens and would continue to distract us from running our business and earning a living."
The information also suggests that Activision had knowledge of EA's alleged involvement as early as six months ago but only chose to include it in December in order to draw out the legal process even more.
