Activision quiet on possible Harmonix acquisition
No word on a possible Guitar Hero/Harmonix reunion yet
Activision has remained silent over their rumoured interest in the purchase of up-for-sale music games studio Harmonix.
It has been hinted that the Guitar Hero publisher could very well be interested in picking up the studio that created the series and then revolutionised the music game genre again with Rock Band.
Acti's Eric Hirschberg said: "I can't comment on that, for obvious reasons. But I can tell you I've got a ton of respect for Harmonix. They're a hell of a developer, very innovative and I've got nothing but love for them. I can't comment on the other question that you asked. There's so much going on with Viacom and them right now."
Harmonix's owner Viacom has recently put the developer up for sale due to the increasing cost associated with licensing the music involved in the Rock Band series.
