At least two digital distributors have expressed their despair and frustration at the dominance of in the games market.

Comments made anonymously to MCV by the boss of one fairly new digital distribution platform branded Steam as having a monopoly on the digital PC games market.

The director of the young digital distributor said: Publishers dont give a shit, they dont care what happens to the customer. Which is the crucial point, because Steam do.

He added: "I've fought hard for my customer, and never before have I had to give my customers away. Steam is killing the PC market and it is no wonder digital retailers are failing. Steam is locking down the market."
