Black Ops breaks Modern Warfare 2's day one sales records

There were doubts but Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops has beaten Modern Warfare 2's day one sales records.
In the US and UK over the first 24 hours of sale Black Ops shifted 5.6 million copies which is almost one million more than Modern Warfare 2's 4.7 million on its day one.
The sales figures represent roughly 360 million USD giving Call of Duty: Black Ops the crown of biggest entertainment launch of all time.
Activsion CEO Bobby Kotick commented to IndustryGamers: "There has never been another entertainment franchise that has set opening day records for two consecutive years and we are on track to outperform last year's five-day global sales record of$550 million. The game's success underscores the pop culture appeal of the brand.
