Nintendo's Wind Waker director Eiji Aonuma, delivered a speech yesterday at the GDC: "The Evolution of a Franchise: The Legend of Zelda", in which he confirmed that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker 2 could well form a central role in Nintendo's E3 showing, alongside a rumoured Prime 2 debut.

Aonuma teased attendees at the GDC with a Wind Waker 2 release date of '2XXX'on the GameCube, which doesn't really help much - but did however hint at a version of for the new DS, too. "With this new expressive quality, and with the upcoming release of the unique system, I think we'll see more changes coming to the franchise", the director stated, before pointing towards an E3 inveiglement.
