Rumour: Slant Six to develop new Resident Evil
SOCOM devs may partner with Capcom on new title
Slant Six, the Canadian developers behind SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALS Confrontation and the franchise's PSP entries, may be working with Capcom on a new multiplayer Resident Evil title, codenamed Raccoon City.
According to documents forwarded to Kotaku, the game will feature the squad-based gameplay that Slant Six has become known for. Neither Capcom nor Slant Six would confirm or deny their involvement.
The Vancouver-based developers are currently working on "an amazing new project" that is being developed in conjunction with a "new publishing partner on a world class franchise," according to its homepage.
Slant Six wouldn't be the first Canadian developer Capcom has worked with. The Japanese publisher recently had Blue Castle develop Dead Rising 2. The game performed so well that Capcom later purchased the studio.
